Anyone know the statistics? oh duh...I'm on google... anyways, I'll check that later. Pity the foals born the children of racers. Ok, random thought(about Ruffian): -Her dam(Shenanigans) was euthanized coming out of a surgery, she thrashed, and broke something(I can't remember the specifics right now, I had an early morning) -her sire was euthanized coming out of a surgery, he thrashed, and I think he broke something(again, can't remember), -Ruffian was Euthanized coming out of surgery, she thrashed, re-broke her cast, and her owners knew she couldn't survive another surgery. I was shocked when they showed the picture of her down on the track. I have loved horses all my life and have been riding for 8 of my 12 years. My whole class was sad the next day. Some of them said they cried, and some said that they were shocked. I really wish that Eight Belles could live a nice long, healthy life. I will never forgive whoever was greedy enough to push her past her limit. I could and would start swearing and yelling at the horrible person who took Eight Belle's life. She was only three years old, she barely even started living her life. I disagree to horse racing because so many horses get hurt, and I can't stand it!!!!!!!!!!! It is so unfair to the horses-especially when I see them getting whipped furiously by their jockey when they are trying their best. But no, all they care about is winning and the money! DISCUSTING!!!! I am still in shock of what happened to that beautiful animal. Horses belong in the pasture, not on a race track... I really thought that Eight Belles was going to beat Big Brown.
